Matthew Haas
Stylist, salon manager
SPECIALTIES:
I have been a stylist for almost two decades. I love working with clients to create a look that is suitable and appropriate for their lifestyle and features. I find joy in helping a client create said look, whether their routine requires minimal effort and maximum results, or if I am working with the woman that uses every tool in her vanity. My favorite ways to dress hair often change with the season and what is happening in fashion. It could be as simple as teaching about products to quicken a blowdry in the winter, conversely, in warmer months, I'll be happy to give tutorials of simple, chic, ways to sweep the hair off of one's neck or teach techniques to let their hair dry naturally. I get an adrenaline rush from editorial sessions and translating that into a night out, or a wedding day.
WHY DID YOU BECOME A HAIRSTYLIST:
I will always maintain that Barbie was my first client. Although I have graduated to tools and techniques superior to that of twist ties and food coloring, the sentiment remains. I love to be creative and make things beautiful. What Barbie did not provide was the aspect of human connection and fostering of relationships that I appreciate so much about this industry.
WHY SLOANE’S:
It's exciting to be part of a team rich with inspiration and talent, collaborating in a beautiful surrounding.
